Know the VIN
The first thing we recommend is to find the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) for your car or SUV. This is important because the VIN allows us to provide you with an estimated value before we even inspect the vehicle. Since the VIN is unique to your specific vehicle, we can see the exact year, trim level, engine, color, and more just by that number. You can find the VIN in several different places, including on the driver’s side windshield, inside the driver’s side door frame, and on your insurance paperwork. If you don’t have this number and want to fill out our online appraisal tool, you will need to know all of the specific details for your vehicle mentioned above and enter them in manually.
Prepare Your Vehicle
Our second tip is to clean the exterior and interior of your vehicle. You can either do this before you fill out the online appraisal form in case you want to include photos with your application or right before you bring it to us here at Cedar Rapids Toyota for the in-person inspection. If the vehicle doesn’t have any exterior damage, a good car wash and wax are all that’s needed to make your RAV4 or Camry look its best. For the interior, make sure to remove all personal items and do a quick vacuum.
